Parker 51 pen and pencil set in box. Coin silver caps with doev gray barrels. The caps are one of the harder to find parker 51 caps, and these are in extremely nice shape, with no dings and only minor wear. The rhodium plating shows some wear on the pen cap, and the clip has made the ytpical faint horizontal line around the middle. There's no visible wear on the gold filled trim. The clips are the wartime vermeil, gold filled over silver, which appeared when the normal brass became a strategic material. The barrels show some minor nicks adn scratches. The pencil barrel, typical of dove gray, is somewhat darker than the pen. The pen's imprint is clear and shows a '3' date code with two dots, indicating production in the second quarter of 1943. The epn has a hard-to-find medium point. Both pen and pencil aer working. Teh pen is a vacumatic filler. I found the set at a pen show with the pen already in working condition, so i can't say exactly when it was restored, and ti may eventually need a new diaphragm.
